This was a passion project for me. I stated thinking about it a year back ago when I moved to Bangalore I meet a friend who is struggling to get contacts for buying pet and I thought about an easy to application for pet buyers and sellers.
Most of the countries in the world banned buying and selling pets online. So if people want to buy a pet either they have to visit the pet store or a pet breeder and not all breads are available with pet stores and pet breeders. For example there are more than 340 breeds of dog are available but not all easily accessible. There are also lot sweet hearted people out there who want to to adopt a Pets have lack of access to the pets shop. Transporting a pet insidcountry or outside the country is a painful process with lots of legal documents.
The solution to the above problem is to bringing the buyers and seller together through a mobile based application where the seller can Showcase their pets with a Pictures and the buyer can book appointment for the visit and can chat with the buyer. This application will make a pet buying process pretty transparent between the buyer and seller.
According to the Forbes research over the last 30 years pet ownership has gone from 56% to 68% on an average. The latest trends to affect the pet industry are Food – Consumers don’t want traditional pet foods. They want to customize the food for their pets from an extensive ingredient list. Technology – We are seeing pet services and conveniences developing along the lines of services for people. Just as with people, the smartphone has enabled this change. Increased services – There is more attention being paid to pet grooming, pet care, pet transportation, pet hotels and many others. Pet industry as a whole is estimated to be more than 100 billion dollars.
The chosen User research method in this case study is ‘Qualitative’: interviews. Users in the research are segregated into a) buyers and b) sellers, Two different set of questionnaires are made to get the insight from their perspective. Rather than conducting the interview like a Q/A session, I wanted to get as much as qualitative feedback as possible from the participants. Conversations were natural as I tried to draw out from them, that special detail to give me a new clue in how I can clearly understand their pain points.
After the research the decision was to come up with a responsive web-application and native mobile application for the pet buyers and sellers
I need to do different tests to make sure that we are going in the right direction
